71N - Firethorn/White Check with Firethorn

Note: New 50-50 divided front seats were an option on the Eldorado and initially included an unusual tubular-shaped center arm rest for that front seat that was attached to the seat with straps. Before the end of the model year, two center fold-down arm rests were provided instead. A six-way power seat adjuster was standard for 1975 on the bench seat, or on the driver's side of the 50-50 seats.

Note 2: Notice the new molded door panel inserts in the photo, with simulated hand-carved gunstock design. The simulated distressed pecan woodgrain design is unique to each series, and serves to identify the series. The spring-loaded door pull handles are also new.

The steering wheel shown in the photo is part of the Air Cushion Restraint System (air bag), a new option for 1975. It has a much larger center padded section as well as four spokes, which are unique to the air bag option.

TRIM CODE - COLOR
44G - Medium Jasper (Green)
65G - Medium Saddle
06G - Medium Orange (1974 interior shown at left; 1975 similar)

Note: Cadillac went crazy for plaid upholstery in 1975-1976, and it all began with the late year addition of Metamora Plaid for the 1974 Fleetwood Eldorado Coupe. Notice the unusual "torpedo" or "tubular" center arm rest pillow that was attached to the seat with straps. You can read more about this unusual item at AUTO BREVITY | 1974-1975 Cadillac Eldorado Tubular Arm Rest. It is believed this arm rest design was cancelled prior to the end of the 1975 model year, and was replaced with two more traditional center fold-down arm rests.

Cadillac introduced a new softer, suppler "shirred" Sierra Grain Leather for 1975. The shirring technique gathered material into rows, and created wrinkles and folds that essentially had invisible seams. The leather for 1975 is noticeably thinner and softer when compared to earlier Cadillac leathers. However, when cared for properly it retains its softness and flexibility better, and appears to wear as well or better than other leathers.
