1976 Thunderbird with optional Lipstick Luxury Group
Shown above: 1976 Thunderbird with optional Lipstick Luxury Group.

(Most 1976 Thunderbirds were equipped with a variety of options. It's rare to find one with just standard equipment.)
Note: Several items listed as standard for 1974 and/or 1975 returned to the options list in 1976. They include: Tinted Glass, Automatic Seat Back Release, WSW Tires, Front Cornering Lamps, AM/FM Stereo Radio, and Power Rear Side Windows. (Power Rear Side Windows were no longer available even as an option. The 1976 Continental Mark IV Standard Equipment list was changed similarly, which indicates this change was not necessarily done in preparation for the down sizing of the Thunderbird in 1977, which resulted in a substantial price drop and better fuel economy, but with fewer standard features than had become customary.)
