The Highland Tweed fabric used in 1958 had an overall random check pattern;
not uniform like a checkerboard, and colors above were combined with a
white weave that made the cloth part of the seats appear lighter than the
vinyl part. *This is most noticeable on the black fabric, hence the notation
above.
The Softextured Vinyl used on the 1958 Thunderbirds had a horizontally-pleated
design on the inserts, and the seats featured a silver tinsel welt that
separated the bolster from the inserts.

One of the 1958 Thunderbird price lists includes a price for an optional
all-leather interior for $106. This option was not installed in production
until 1959.
The assortment of convertible top colors (with color-coordinated linings
and frames) would be greater in the 1958 and 1959 model years than in any
other.
