The 1979 Thunderbird Heritage includes exquisite interior and exterior touches that belong to Heritage alone. The front split bench seats are individually adjustable with dual center fold-down armrests. Biscuit sew style with Thunderbird insignia on the seatbacks is exclusive to the Heritage with Luxury Cloth upholstery. Plush 36-oz. cut-pile carpeting, Ebony woodtone appliques, hand-stitched leather instrument panel padding and steering wheel are rich pleasures to be enjoyed.

Available in just two interior shades to compliment the exterior colors. Ultra Soft Leather seating surfaces are available at additional cost, and feature the Interior Luxury Group sew style on the seats.

The Thunderbird vinyl roof was an option that could be ordered to match the body paint color, as shown below, or contrast for a more dramatic effect: Comprised of two pieces, a body-colored band stretched from side to side separating the front section from the rear.

VINYL ROOF

Vinyl roof codes for the 1979 Thunderbird consist of two digits. The first digit is a letter identifying the type of vinyl roof. All 1979 Thunderbirds except where noted below use "Y" as the first digit, which designates a Valino Grain vinyl material, ½ vinyl roof style.
