This body style is the rarest of the 1968 Thunderbirds; Allen's car is
especially rare as it's a low-option car, with no interior power options.

Owner: Allen Law
Allen plans on installing new tires and wheels, 245 60R15 tires with 15x7
or 8 star wheels. An interior makeover as well as a new silver or black
paint job (with less exterior trim) is also in the works. |

1968 Ford Thunderbird Tudor Landau
Owner: The Goss Family
"Originally purchased new by Richard and Izabelle Cargill. When the
Cargill's passed the car was bought at auction by relatives (The Goss's).
The Goss Family (currently restoring the car) can remember their Uncle
Dick and Izzy filling the car with airplane fuel and running the car briskly
up and down the runway. (Dick was a pilot.)
First restoration steps were to get the car to stop again, (brakes).
Next will be fuel and carberation, followed by a general fixing and ironing
out of all the little querks here and there. Finally followed by
some fresh paint." |

Owner: Jim Strebe
"This is the car we call Christine, it is a '68 four door 429. This
is almost the exact condition it was in when I bought it. I have
completely rebuilt the suspension. Other than that it's the way she
came. This is yet unconfirmed but I was told that she used to be
a test bed car for the design of the new Lincolns. It still has some
antilock brake test equipment installed on it. It has no options
other than shoulder belts, power steering and rear window blower.
This car likes to crash into Mopars when you're not watching (hence the
name Christine)." |

Sharp ride, and a great looking photo! Ford could have used this shot in
their original ads... |

for a complete rebuild which was finished around 1995.

Owner: John Nichols
"A word about the pigs in front of the car. Some people called it
"Thunderchicken," I said no, it is a "Thunderhog" and
the name stuck. My wife found the pigs at Wal Mart and dressed them and
now they are our mascots."
John's Thunderbird is equipped with the 360 hp Thunder Jet 429, which has
been chromed, along with chrome underhood accessories. Custom pinstripping
and Lake Pipes are among the modifications. |
