We've added QR Codes to our Home, Recent Updates, and Main Contents pages. QR, or "quick response," code allows site visitors with QR-enabled smartphones to bookmark the page, send it as a link to friends, etc. The QR image is scanned by the phone and contains a link to the page.
This is relatively new technology, but you will notice these images appearing in magazine ads, on billboards, and on products you buy in retail stores. We're currently testing this on a limited basis to determine if a site-wide roll out of this feature would be beneficial, and if so will include it in the footer area of our upcoming site redesign.

A New Look
At left is our new logo design. We hope you like it. It represents an upcoming site redesign that is intended to make our site more user friendly, improve functionality and interaction, and update our pages to meet current validation standards for HTML.
Part of the new design will include a common page header and footer, which will appear on all pages. The header will include our new navigation menu as well as links to our social media sites. The footer will provide links to main site pages as well as a site search function. You will also be able to recommend our pages to your friends on Facebook, tweet them on Twitter, stream them on Google+, or add them to your RSS news feed by clicking the appropriate link in the page footer.
We will provide additional details as we near roll out of the new design. We hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Book of the Month
We have revived our Book of the Month page, and this month we're featuring the book "Chrysler's Turbine: The Rise and Fall of America's Coolest Car" by Steve Lehto. The book chronicles the history of the car, from its development to the eventual destruction of most of the cars built, the majority of which were loaned to families to "test drive" for a month. Included are interviews with many of the people who drove them. It's a fascinating look at an idea that if it had been allowed to develop further, may have changed the way America drives today.

Have you noticed our new logo? We're working on a long past due site redesign, and thought it was time to update our original logo that dates back to 2001. This isn't the final version of the new logo, but along with the new navigation menu, it's a preview of things to come. Have a good Tuesday!

Good Friday morning, everyone! This week we completed the process of retiring our old navigation menu. The new menu has been installed and tested using the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. It continues to function as intended in our testing.
We are in the process of a site redesign, in which we will roll out a new logo, and upgrade our HTML. We will provide more details on this as we complete the preliminary design process.

Also, we have begun testing Automotive Mileposts in the Chrome browser, and will address any issues we detect with the site when viewed in Chrome. So far, no major issues have been noticed except for some functionality problems with the older version of our navigation menu, which we are in the process of replacing.
Have a great weekend!
