1972 TORONADO.
THERE'S NOTHING COMMON ABOUT IT.
Oldsmobile Division celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 1972, the first
American automobile manufacturer to achieve this milestone. A limited edition
1972 Ninety Eight Regency was built to commemorate, which included a Tiffany Clock in the instrument panel, and many special touches that set it apart from
other Ninety Eights. Additionally, each car had special keys and was registered
with Tiffany & Co.
The 1972 Toronado wasn't changed much, since it had been the subject of
major change the previous year. The Toro continued to be one of the sharpest
looking cars on the road, and its road manners and performance were astonishing
for such a large, heavy car. With front wheel drive, traction was not an
issue, even in the most inclement weather, and the Rocket 455 V-8 engine
under the long hood provided the means to move the Toronado with authority.
It's too bad they don't build them like this any longer.
