Big changes happened to the 1970 Oldsmobile Toronado, even in its final
year of this body style. The front appearance was totally new, as was the
side view. The open wheel wells looked more muscular than ever, and the
loss of the mid-body feature line following the contours of the wheel openings
gave the car a sleek new look going into the seventies. A new Toronado
GT option was available, with a whopping 400 horsepower engine, the highest
horsepower rating in Oldsmobile history to date, making cars so equipped
among the most sought after of all 1970 Olds models.
