For 1969, the Oldsmobile Toronado carried on with few changes from 1968.
The top of the line Olds shared honors with the Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado
as being the only full sized cars on the road with front wheel drive. Sales
were up slightly from 1968, and the Toro included GM's new ignition/steering/transmission
locking system as standard equipment.
The rare high performance W-34 option returned for its second year, but
was rarely ordered, making cars equipped with this option very hot on the
market today. It was easy to escape from the ordinary in a 1969 Toronado!
