America celebrated with red, white, and blue in 1976.
Thunderbird celebrated with Creme and Gold, Lipstick Red, and Bordeaux.
The final flight of the big Thunderbird was about to land.
The 1976 Ford Thunderbird would be the last of the big Thunderbirds. To unofficially signify this
event, three new Luxury Group options were introduced. The Creme and Gold
group featured two tone interior trim and exterior paint colors, while
the Lipstick group was very flashy with bright Lipstick Red paint and vinyl
roof outside, and a white with Lipstick Red accent interior inside. A Bordeaux
group in a monotone deep maroon color scheme was more reserved than the
other two. The 1976 Thunderbirds are generally considered to be the epitome
of luxury for the car, although certainly not the most popular year for
sales.
