Image: 1966 Oldsmobile Starfire CoupeThis would be the final year for the Oldsmobile Starfire. The new Toronado would be the only sporty/personal luxury car offering from Oldsmobile going forward. Available only as a 2-door hardtop for 1966, the Starfire still stood out from other Olds models with front fender vents, unique chrome side mouldings, sporty wheel covers, and inside, Strato Bucket Seats, control console with floor shift, and interior trim that was exclusive to the Starfire. The name Starfire would return on a sporty Olds compact in the seventies, but it was a very different car from the 1961-1966 Starfire.
