When Motor Trend Magazine named the new 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado as its Car of the Year, it knew the Toronado was something different. And being different was a constant for every Toronado, regardless of the year.

Always front wheel drive, Olds' personal luxury muscle car delivered the performance, muscular good looks, and luxury Toronado owners expected. Of special note are the 1968-1970 cars with the W-34 option which provided more horsepower.

The Toronado grew larger in the seventies, then smaller in the eighties and nineties. A Toronado Troféo with beefier suspension is worth searching for if you want one of the later models with a firmer ride and handling characterists. The last Toronado was built in 1992.
