The fabulous 1967 Cadillac Eldorado was the World's finest personal luxury
car when it was introduced, and it was a styling masterpiece that was imitated
for years. It was the first car to provide front wheel drive, variable-ratio
power steering, and automatic level control as standard equipment. For
1970, Cadillac installed the largest engine ever in a production automobile:
a 500 cubic inch (8.2 Litre) V-8 rated at 400 horsepower! A sleek Convertible
model was added in 1971, and a new Custom Biarritz trim package was introduced
late in the 1976 model year, and would continue for many years as Eldorado's
top of the line model.
