The 1961 Lincoln Continental was the beginning of what would become Lincoln's finest period. Lincoln had created a timeless classic with this automobile, one that would endure the test of time and earn respect and admirers for years to come. The design was so simple, it was an elegant understatement that caught attention wherever it appeared. Other luxury car makers sent their designers back to the drawing board when they saw this one.

The impact the 1961 Lincoln Continental had on the automotive industry cannot be explained in a few paragraphs; suffice it to say it had an enormous impact. 1961 also ushered in the exclusive four door Lincoln Continental Convertible, the only one of its kind in the sixties, and the last of its kind to date.

If ever perfection in automotive design was achieved, this is surely it.
