The 1978 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado had reached the end of the line. Fuel shortages, high gas prices, and the popularity of smaller luxury imports had all impacted American tastes and needs in luxury transportation. The Eldorados that would follow would be of a smaller, more efficient design. Of special note in 1978 is the Eldorado Biarritz Classic, a limited production car with two tone exterior paint treatment and matching two tone pillowed leather upholstery. 1978 was truly the end of an era at Cadillac.
