The 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado was modestly restyled, and featured
new linear tail lamps for the first time. Splashy new optional Firemist
Paint colors like Terra Cotta, Cranberry, and Persian Lime dressed up the
exterior, and a sleek new instrument panel gave the interior a clean, elegant
appearance. 1974 introduced the Controlled Cycle Wiper (intermittent wiper)
option to Cadillac, along with a standard impact-absorbing rear bumper
system that featured color-keyed flexible urethane fillers. The latter
would not withstand the effects of time well, and is a problem for restorers
today. Thankfully, reproductions are available.
