![]() ![]() The 1970 Cadillac Eldorado featured the new 8.2 Litre V-8 engine. It boasted 550 foot-pounds of torque, and has been a remarkably durable engine over the years. It was the largest production engine ever installed at the time, a fact that would remain true for decades. The combination of this powerful engine, coupled with front wheel drive, variable-ratio power steering, and automatic level control make these big cars seem surprisingly agile and responsive to the driver. This was the fourth and final year for the body style introduced in 1967, and it featured attractive updates to both the front and rear of the car, with a new grille design and slimmer tail lamps. This first generation body style almost always ranks high on everyone's list of favorite Cadillacs. This one truly had it all: excellence in styling, performance, good handling and road manners, spacious interior, and most every luxury one could imagine. |
