The 1969 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado received a modest facelift for 1969. Gone were the retractable headlamps of previous years, replaced with exposed headlamps and a grille with a finer texture. The sporty slotted wheel covers were also gone, a new design with finer slots was introduced that gave the car a more elegant look. Inside, a new control center instrument cluster appeared, which grouped all instruments and controls in front of the driver. Door panels were also new, eliminating the upright window and door lock controls and moving them onto a horizontal plane even with the armrest. The windshield wiper and washer control was also mounted on the driver's door panel, although it cleverly appeared to be part of the instrument panel when the door was closed.
