1953 saw the introduction of what was to become a legendary Cadillac model
name: Eldorado. Available only as a convertible, the swank new Eldorado
cost $7,750! This was almost twice the cost of a standard Cadillac Series
62 Convertible, which may explain why only 532 Eldorados were built in
1953. The price would decrease considerably for 1954, with a production
incease to match!
Four paint colors were exclusive to the Eldorado: Artisan Ochre (Yellow),
Alpine White, Azure Blue, and Aztec Red, although 70 cars left the factory
painted in standard Cadillac colors available on any 1953 model.
