A glamorous new model was added to the 1969 Mercury Cougar line: the Convertible. Already sleek, sporty, and elegant, the new model added additional prestige to the line, and allowed Cougar to compete model for model with its competition. Restyled for 1969, the Cougar retained most of its signature features and lost little, if anything, during the change. The Cougar Convertible would continue to be built through the 1973 model year.
