CLASSIC CAR

For 1969, Cadillac was a much-changed automobile. Long the leader in the
luxury field, Cadillac maintained its title of sales and style leader throughout
the sixties.Ventless front door glass appeared for the first time this year, and was not universally accepted by veteran Cadillac owners. This move did reduce wind noise and improve visibility, but required an adjustment period for some. A new instrument panel grouped all controls in front of the driver, and new interior fabrics were the most luxurious in Cadillac history. All new exterior styling was less cumbersome in appearance from the previous year, and headlamps were placed horizontally flanking the grille for the first time since 1964. An Electric-Powered Sunroof was offered late in the year as an option for Coupe deVille, Sedan deVille, Fleetwood Brougham and Fleetwood Eldorado models equipped with a vinyl roof, and is one of the rarest options for the year. |
